For the Future Tomorrow
Helping One Another
Building Together
Abiriba Communal Improvement Union - (ACIU) Maryland was founded in the 1990s to support each other locally and abroad. ACIU-Maryland is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that their sole purpose is to empower the youths by engaging them in the STEM programs and local activities, provide basic hygiene to underserved communities, and making our community a safe place to live by advocating for gun violence.
We are a proud descendant of Ibo Nigerians in West Africa. Our goal is to support the local community and develop our home village Abiriba Abia State Nigeria. ACIU was founded on a firm foundation to improve our community both locally and internationally and for family welfare. Progress in each city is achieved by the firm determination of the people in the community to maintain its culture but at the same time create room for innovation and improvement. ACIU has over the years since its inception strives to improve and keep its rich cultural history while in the process to assist and support families that need both moral, spiritual, and financial support.
Over the years, we have embarked on projects and initiatives that will help the Abiriba community and support other cities in the area. We have had medical seminars and missions, financial empowerment talks from different organizations. Educational funding contributed towards the building and financing of a Health Center in our local village Abiriba. In as much we have strived to achieve so much, there are still initiatives and projects that need assistance.
Youth cultural/educational initiatives
The children are the future for any given community, and it’s imperative to educate them in all aspects of life, in academics, culture, society, and morals. The funds from our donors will improve the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program and increase the academic scholarship giving to our youths across the globe.
Trade Fairs
ACIU-Maryland is currently in the process of carrying out the organization trade fair and a cultural bonanza in Baltimore Maryland, to reflect Abiriba culture and also to showcase different areas of trade one can pursue.

Family Welfare

ACIU-Maryland's number one priority is to promote a common front and provide guides to the better family leaving. We are always keeping in touch with our families at home and abroad on social media.
To encourage the work we are doing. Please help us help the youths, elderly and underserved communities. Our mission is to change our teenager's mindset towards the future, to provide standard medical care and decent nourishment to people that cannot afford one.
