STEM is for Everyone, even those with disabilities

As our world continues to evolve at an increasing rate, one of the best ways to prepare our youth for the future is to provide them with an innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. Technical skills such as the ability to code and use professional software are essential. We join widespread efforts to combat stereotypes surrounding science professions, to ensure that STEM careers are accessible to everyone regardless of gender, race, or disability.

We plan to encourage students to see STEM careers as something within reach, helping them understand:

1. What it means to be a scientist—and that anyone can be a scientist.
2. Develop their essential communication skills.  
3. Strengthen their literacy skills and apply mathematics in fundamental ways.
4. Help create critical thinkers, increase science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators.

Several studies proffered that youth who participate in 4-H STEM are better equipped with critical life skills necessary for future success. Your donations will help us achieve our goals and go towards our needs around: 

1. Facility costs (rent and owned real estate)
2. Purchasing course books
3. Staff wages and maintaining training programs.

80% of Autistic children in our communities do not have access to basic care and we want to contribute to the end of neglect and stigma our autistic children face in our very own communities. 

We will be reaching out to our community to provide the much-needed support for Autistic children and families with ADHD children. Our support will include feeding, health basics, software development camps, and counseling.

As of January 2019, Maryland had an estimated 6,561 experiencing homelessness on any given day, as reported by Continuums of Care to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Public school data reported to the U.S. Department of Education during the 2017-2018 school year shows that an estimated 17,601 public school students experienced homelessness over the year. Most of them are dissociated from their families and the community, tagged cursed or a symbol of something negative. 

However, we want to reach out to them with a basic hygienic care pack, hot food, snacks, and water. We cannot do it alone. We need your support through volunteering and donations in the midst of these challenging times.
